The Cinematic Orchestra Make Their Return with New Single
Nine years removed from their last studio album Ma Fleur, the Cinematic Orchestra are at last working on a follow-up. Described as "some of the most poised, ravishing music," the first taste of what's to come arrives with "To Believe."

Billed as the record's first single, the song is based on the idea that "the prerequisite of everything in life is belief." An aching acoustic guitar melody soon includes piano and bold, sweeping strings, all held together by the vocals of rising Los Angeles-based vocalist Moses Sumney.

As mentioned, the band's last proper studio release, Ma Fleur, arrived in 2007. Group founder Jason Swinscoe started label Motion Audio in 2009, while the group explored the music of avant-garde film classics with In Motion #1 in 2012.

While further details on the forthcoming LP are scarce, a press release indicates it will arrive in 2017. In the meantime, take a listen to "To Believe" in the player below.
