Black Keys Side-Project the Arcs Release 'Making a Murderer'-Inspired Song for Charity

Netflix's baffling true crime documentary Making a Murderer has managed to piss off a whole bunch of people thanks to its real-life depiction of a man who appears to be wrongfully imprisoned. Adding to the chorus of those calling for the release of Steven Avery is Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach, who has just released a Murderer-inspired song with his band the Arcs.

The track's called "Lake Superior," and it's a low-key garage pop track with some gentle psych flourishes.

The band shared the following statement on the song's creation:

It's like Billy Childish says, "We live in troubled times." Last week, we got a sneak peek at what goes on behind the curtains of our criminal justice system. A few sleepless nights later we gathered in the studio and wrote this song. Written, recorded, mixed and mastered in 2 days.

All proceeds for the track will be donated to the Innocence Project, an organization that seeks to free those who are wrongfully imprisoned and reform the justice system.
